Company One Line Description
Womanars® is an organization which equips and enables women to become the best version of themselves and create a life they love.
How did you get here? (Background)
People have described me as "fearless" or "crazy" for having the courage and confidence to do what most people only dream of doing, like joining the Army and becoming a Counterintelligence Agent, or leaving a cushy six-figure income and successful 20-year career to start my own business, and most recently selling my home in the U.S. to travel and work around the world. The truth is, I spent the first half of my life consumed with anger, fear and shame due to a traumatic childhood, and was able to transform my mind and my life into one filled with joy, love and freedom. I'm determined to make the second half of my life meaningful and impactful in service to others.
As the Founder of Womanars®, I teach women how to transform their own fear into action and limiting beliefs into unlimited possibilities by aligning with their true Source of Power using Spirituality and Positive Psychology practices, which dramatically increase their clarity, courage and confidence. I primarily work with entrepreneurs, leaders and women in transition. I deliver actionable and specific strategies that deliver tangible, measurable results in both their personal and professional lives.
I have over 25 years of experience in diverse leadership roles in male dominated industries, like the military and airline industry. I also have experience in team development and management, event production and planning, entrepreneurship, curriculum and training development, as well as global partnerships. I'm a Certified Positive Psychology Facilitator & Leadership Trainer.
I'm really excited to be back in Zagreb and continue the collaboration we started last year with the Impact Hub Zagreb and Aurora women's community, as well as others who decide to join us. I am in love with the people, the country and see so many opportunities for entrepreneurs here. I'm excited to play a small part in equipping them to help make their dreams a reality.
What is your inspiration for creating your company?
My inspiration for creating Womanars® comes from my passion to want to see all women believe in themselves and their limitless potential when they tap into their true source of power. I want them to experience life to the fullest and fulfill their innermost desires and become the change they want to see in the world.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
The biggest challenge for me was loving what I do so much, that I did it for free too much. For those of us who love to help others, one of our biggest challenges is to be ok with making money doing what we love. I had to finally realize I can't help anyone if I don't help myself first, and how am I supposed to teach others to do this, if I'm not doing it myself. I had to work through it and at times I still have to check in with myself, because I want to say "Yes" when the answer is really "No".
What is your biggest learning?
Getting out of my own way and learning to be patient. I like to make things happen fast, and when they don't happen I get impatient and start to force things to happen instead of allowing them to happen. It has cost me a lot of wasted time and money in the process, so I continually have to remind myself to be patient. When I am patient, the results are much better and I don't feel like I've wasted anything.
What accomplishment are you most proud of today?
I'm most proud of building Womanars® into a brand people know, like and trust through continually cultivating deep and meaningful relationships.
On those tough days what continues to motivate you?
When things get tough, I remember my "why", and I think of everything I've overcome to get where I am, I think of the testimonials or messages I've received thanking me, I think about how grateful I am to be alive and be doing what I love, I think about all the wonderful people I have yet to meet, I think about everything I am grateful for in my life, and I think of how fortunate I am to be surrounded by people who believe in me, support me and love me. And I'm likely thinking about all of this on a nice long walk in nature.
What would you do differently if you had to do it all over again?
The only thing I would do differently, is take more time to myself to transition from a 20-year successful career to a full-time entrepreneur. It was a drastic and difficult change for me, and I really feel had I taken the time to adjust I would've had much more clarity and confidence about how to move forward.
What's next for you and your company?
We're always open to collaborating and partnering with businesses, organizations and individuals globally who align with our mission and values, and believe when they invest in women they're investing in a better future for all of us.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking of becoming an entrepreneur or starting a company?
I have 3 pieces of advice for new entrepreneurs:
1. Know your "why", because on tough days (and they will come) it's the reason you will still get up in the morning and continue the work.
2. Don't be afraid to pivot and make changes if something isn't working. Sometimes the smallest change can make a huge difference.
3. Remember to give back somehow with your time, resources or money. The more you give the more you get. The world needs more conscious business owners, be one of them.
